About Bananacoast Community CU

Founded in 1970, Bananacoast Community CU (BCU) provides cards, home loans, savings & transaction accounts, term deposits, investment loans, personal loans, insurance & financial planning. Originally started by a group of north coast banana growers who found it difficult to gain finance from banks, BCU was formed when the banana growers pooled resources to form their own credit union. Today the credit union boasts 23 branches, a call centre and telephone and Internet banking facilities. The credit union also has 54,000 members and returns profits to members via loyalty rebates, sponsorships, affordable loans and education programs.
